Default Loading DTS Packages - 10-15-2004 , 10:15 AM

I have exported DTS packages to load onto another network. How do I load th
packages into another SQLServer. I can run them against the another system,
but (DTSRUN) not load them for modification or see them visually through EM.

I'm running SQL 2000

hmmmm

Not quite sure what you mean but

By export do you mean to Structured Storage File?

If yes then you can use EM on your other server (right click on the Data
Transformation Services folder | Open Package) now navigate to the file.
The connections though may still be pointing to what is for you now the
wrong server.

Remember DTS is a client side so it in the mani has to do with where you
open the package more than its physical location

Thanks Allen! You answered my question. I read my post and it did not make
since to me either... I was expecting an import to coincide with the DTS
'export'. Thanks again! -lou
