Default Link Tables - 10-17-2004 , 05:43 PM

Friends,

My instance of SQL Server 2000 comprises 2 databases (db_1 and db_2). From
db_1 how do I link to a table in db_2 so that I can create a View in db_1
that joins a db_2 table to a db_1 table?

For example, through an MS-Access ODBC connection to SQL Server, I can
choose File / Get External Data / Link Tables. After I link to the two tables
(one table in db_1 and one table in db_2), I can create a query that joins
the two tables.

How can I accomplish this inside SQL Server?

Thanks for your help ...

Bill

Got error message on this post so didn't realize it would appear. I received
an excellent answer to this question in a subsequent post. Thanks ...
