Default Kill DTS - 12-11-2003 , 09:11 AM

How do I kill a DTS package? I have went into the SQL server agent/process info and tried to kill it there, but it did nothing. I have tried to end Enterprise Manager by using the task manager, but when I go back in, the DTS package is still running according to SQL Server Agent.

Thanks for any ideas,
ChelleV

This is executing as a job right ?
Have you tried right clicking on the job and then cancelling there?
Stop SQL Server Agent service?

If it is a SQL Server Agent job then DTSRun is running. Check Task Manager
for the DTSRun.ex. If it is there then end the process. If it is not
running then the DTS package is not running and something else is going on.

Both of your responses were helpful, I appreciate it

I did actually try to stop and re-start SQLserver agent, and the package still seemed to be running according to Current Process information. Because this was a development box with few users, we rebooted the box, and all is well

However, on most servers we would not have been able to do this, so I'll save your info regarding Task Manager for the future

Thanks again
