Default HOW? Saving a "Package2" as Visual Basic - 01-06-2004 , 07:04 PM






It seems most DTS package manipulations are available
programmatically, but I am not finding this one. Thanks for any clues
(or confirmation it just isn't there!)

You are correct, there isn't a programmatic method for saving a package as a
VB file. This feature is implemented internally by the Package Designer not
through the object model.

....but you could dig out a copy of ScriptPkg, and sample tool that
shipped with SQL 7.0. This is a VB program that generates VB code for a
package, but will need updating for SQL 2000, but this shouldn't be a
major job.
