Default How edit ported DTS to SSIS - 02-03-2006 , 11:54 AM

I used wizard to port a DTS script to SSIS, it says that it completed. I
only saved it to the database not to a file. In studio manager under mdsb
database I can see that the package exist. But I want to edit the package in
BIDS to see how complete the porting was, to see if I need to reprogram
things that don't convert to SSIS.
In the BIDS I can not find this converted project, it is looking for a file,
but I only saved it in mdsb database. Is there a way to open what I have
saved in the database. Do I have to do something else to make it an SSIS
project? Or do I have to save it as a file before I can edit it?

Thanks,
Brian

Hello brian_harris,

Ok So you now have a ported package from 2K in your 2005 MSDB. You now want
to edit or at least view it in BIDS

1. Go to BIDS (SSIS Project)
2. Right Click on the SSIS Packages folder in Solution Explorer
3. Click Add Existing package from context menu
4. Select Add Existing Package
5. Now make sure the "Package Location" is set to SQL Server

Is this what you want?
