Default Help: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECT - 06-06-2008 , 09:51 AM

Hi,

I have created a SSIS package that extracts the data from Excel (Excel 2003)
to SQL Server 2005. The package runs successfully at my workstation which
installed with SQL Server 2005 (with SP2). However, when I tried to run the
package at dev server (SQL Server 2005 with SP2), it fails with the following
error messages:

Error at Fact_EL_Finance [Connection manager "Excel_Finance"]: SSIS Error
Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.
An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Service
Components" Hresult: 0x80040E21 Description: "Multiple-step OLE DB
operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No
work was done."

Error at Dimension_ET Data Flow [Excel Source [41228]]: SSIS Error Code
DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER . The AcquireConnection
method call to the connection manager "Excel_Finance" failed with error code
0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more
information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.

------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Exception from HRESULT: 0xC020801C (Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap)

Anyone has idea why this happen and how to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Does your dev server have Excel loaded? it might not have the right drivers
to get tot he data.
