Default HELP! - 06-16-2005 , 08:54 AM

I have to move data from 2000 tables from one Server to another (total 10
million records). The Servers are physically in different locations. Is
there an easy way to create a DTS package to do the same? I have tried the
import/export and if I pick up more than 25 tables at a time, it takes
forever to just create and save the package. Backup/Restore or attach/detach
in not an option. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks.

Use the Wizard to create several packages, 10 tables at a time. This
should get round the big package problem.

Also you may want to look at replication or log shipping perhaps?

Backup and restore would probably be the best method though, maybe
re-evaluate the constraints you have?
