Default General question on Integration Services (SSIS) vs Biztalk - 03-01-2006 , 04:08 AM

Hi,

I would like to know what people think about Biztalk and the new Integration
Services. My requirement is to take different sources of data and integrate
them into a database. It was also mentioned that Biztalk could be used for
this task instead of SSIS, alas have no experience with Biztalk.

What do people think? I personally think biztalk is better suited for
integrating applications and is not specifically made for bulk insertions of
data into databases. I think SSIS should be able to handle this. What do
people think? Is there any reason I should use Biztalk instead of SSIS?

Thanks,

Panos

Hello Panos Stavroulis.,

Biztalk is a business application message routing app. SSIS is about moving
data and integrating the data. Donald Farmer is quite emotional about this.
