If I need to update a database running on laptops and this needs to be done
monthly, is an ftp push the right direction to go in. Example: I have over
1500 new parts that were added to inventory this month and they need to be
pushed out to the salespeople. Darren Green has some interesting articles
on doing this, but they are more than a couple of years old. I'm wondering
if new security measures (XP SP2, 2003 Server, et al to come in the future)
are going to make an ActiveX distribution of this type problematic.
