Default FTP fails inconsistently - 04-10-2006 , 11:10 AM

I have a simple FTP task in my DTS package. It downloads about a dozen
files from a remote server. But it never downloads all the files. I'm
always missing one or two, usually from the beginning of the
alphabetical order for some reason.

And when I keep an eye on the directory as the files are downloaded, I
can the first file download, then the second gets created with 0k, then
the first one gets downloaded again, then the second one gets deleted,
then the rest of the files get downloaded.

Is there a bug I need a patch for or something? This behavior is
really weird.

It's a bit similar to an issue fixed with SP1 on SQL Server
2000. Make sure you are using the latest service pack on
your server and your clients using tools such as EM, Query
Analyzer, Profiler, etc.
