Default Excel Object in ActiveX script - 11-01-2004 , 02:26 PM

Does anyone know why the error "Cannot create object"
would occur when trying to create an Excel object in
VBScript within a DTS ActiveX?

Remember DTS is client side so it may be that you are creating it on a
computer without Excel.

That is the case. Do you know if it is possible to load
just the Excel library without installing the Excel
application?

I have seen it done yes.

You may want to see if there is anything on the MS KB about doing this
_ALSO_ Office apps are not supported by MS in a server side unattended
usage.
