Default Excel file connection in package - 11-27-2005 , 05:54 PM

I am using an Excel connection in my DTS package. After running the
package in DTS Designer, I tried to open the Excel file using the Excel
application. I get a message saying "Excel can't access <filename>".
Any ideas on what caused the error would be appreciated.

Could the file be locked?

On the workflow properties of the Data Pump task there is a setting
entitled "Close Connection On Completion"

This did the trick thanks! I wonder why closing all connections when
execution ends isn't automatic package behavior though.

Hello PD,

Perhaps cost associated with reopening the connection
