Hi
I have a problem with a dts on sql7.
The dts runs every x hours and it worked find for months. Suddenly i
get the ffw error: "Unspecified error. Too many fields specified".
The error is displayed when started from enterprise manager,local
packages.

If the package is run from jobs, the ffw error is in the log:
"... Tabelle erstellen Ergebnisse Schritt DTSRun OnError: Tabelle
erstellen Ergebnisse Schritt, Fehler = -2147008507 (80074005)
Fehlerzeichenfolge: Unspecified error Fehlerquelle:
Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS)-Paket Hilfedatei:
sqldts.hlp Hilfekontext: 1100 Fehlerdet... Process Exit
Code 2. Der Schritt ist fehlgeschlagen.."


Any ideas?

I see that the Knowledge Base contains some mentions of the "too many
fields" error with Jet when (1) the column count exceeds 255 columns or (2)
the amount of data requires locks in excess of the maximum defined in the
MaxLocksPerFile registry settings.

The most recent version of this KB article (though written mostly for
Access) is:
