Default Error Description: The DTS host Failed to load or save the packageproperly. - 03-16-2007 , 08:13 AM

Hello to everybody.

I have a big problem.

We have two server with SQL server 2k SP3 and w2k3 Server, when we try
import one dts to another server with SQL server 2k sp3 that show me the
follow error:

First: Error source: Microsoft Data Transformation Services
(DTS) Package

Error Description: The DTS host Failed to load or save
the package properly.
Second: The selected package cannot be opened. The DTS designer
has been closed.

Well, We search in the Internet the follow recommendations that we found
in the www but not fix the problem:

1.- Install mdac 2.7 but no work.
2.- install mdac 2.8 but no work.
3.- install SP3a in both servers but not work.
4.- try export with the DTSBackup 2000 (recommend by this forum) but
nothing, not work.

Somebody had this problem? how we can solve the problem?

Thanks by the help

Regards.

Nelson de Freitas.

Hi,
I wonder if you have solved this issue? After patching our servers with the hotfix 2249 we have exactly the same problem. I found also another person fighting with it, see http://www.devnewsgroups.net/group/m...opic60178.aspx.
The hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917406 is not applicable here.
Kind regards,
/Ireneus
