Default Error Copying from SQl Server 2000 to 2005 - 01-10-2006 , 06:01 PM

I am getting the following two errors in the event log when trying to copy a
database from SQL2000 to SQL2005. Any ideas?

SQLServerAgentError
SQL Server Scheduled Job 'CDW_GRAYMATTER_LENNY_1'
(0xB5C7AFF09C96C146A1FE9B383370F008) - Status: Failed - Invoked on:
2006-01-10 15:54:46 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by User
BUEHNER-FRY\mholli. The last step to run was step 1
(CDW_GRAYMATTER_LENNY_1_Step).

..Net runtime 2.0 error
Faulting application dtexec.exe, version 2005.90.1399.0, stamp 43500d1a,
faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, stamp 42438b79, debug?
0, fault address 0x0000000000027d0d.

I don't know what the error actually is but its usually easier and faster to
just do a restore on 2005 from the 2000 backup. Or even attach the db.

I too am experiencing this error on a fresh install of SQL 2005
Enterprise on a 64bit Server 2003 install. I was simply copying the
Northwind database as a test before I copied one of our databases. Has
anyone else figured out what this problem is caused by?

Jonas, have you tried replicating a table to a 2000 SQL Server. I have an
open support case with Microsoft because I can't get it to work, just
wondering if you have tried it. Also, DBMail doesn't seem to work in the 64
bit version.

I'm getting a similar error, not on copying a database, but trying to
execute a maintenance plan against an existing database. I have the
same setup, a 64bit 2003 install and 64 bit sql 2005.

I ran into same issue with Sql2005 on AMD 64 machine with 64 bit Sql version.

There is a bug in the installation that puts files into the wrong directory.
I believe it is x86.

You'll either need to wait for SP1, which supposedly comes out in a month or
two.

Or rerun the installation and modify the installation path of the program
files.
