Default Enterprise Manager Quits on Define Columns - 09-16-2004 , 11:47 AM

I am experiencing exactly the behaviour in KB818540.

However, when I try to e-mail MS Tech support it asks for
a product ID but I bought it on licensing and don't have a
product ID. The eOpen website will not expand the product
(so I can't see what it says in there). The find product
ID doesn't list SQL Server as a product.

And I'm not paying to call Microsoft for a known bug!!!

Does anyone know a way I can get the patch for this???

KB818540.

This is a known issue and MS will not charge if they deem that the
problem you have is the problem described. Give the PSS guys a call.

However, they will take my credit card number before I
speak to anyone. If it isn't this issue I get charged
£169+VAT which is ridiculous.

I really want to apply the patch and see if the problem
goes away! With no risk to my bank balance!

Cheers,

Joel.

Default UPDATE Enterprise Manager Quits on Define Columns - 09-20-2004 , 03:48 AM

Spoke to someone really quite helpful at SQL Server
support in Reading and he suggested simply installing the
security patch in KB821277 which changes it to build:
2000.080.0818.00 (from 760).

All sorted now! I didn't even know this patch was about.
