Default dtsx deployment - 2005 - 04-19-2006 , 08:19 PM

i've created a integration services project and dtsx package to extract data
from one server to another. the package runs fine from the IDE, but i can't
figure out how to deploy it to the server.

any ideas?

Hello cp-bulldog,

There are actually a couple of ways you can do it.

1 Manually. Take the dtx file, put it somewhere and call it from a job or
the like using DTExec
2. You can use the deployment utility to send it to SQL Server

3. You can import the package to SQL Server after connecting to the SSIS
Service in sqlwb

Have a look here in BOL

thanks that helps. i've got another one for ya. should i be able to login
to Integration Services via the SQL Management Studio? when i choose to
login, i do not see the server in the list. is that by design? i'm pretty
sure it is installed, but maybe not configured right?

Hello cp-bulldog,

In the dropdown there should be an SSIS server to which you can connect.

That said. Have a look here
