Default DTS Wizard Error - 05-24-2006 , 02:01 PM

When I try to open my DTS Wizard in my program list under MS SQL Server/
import export wizard, I get the following error message "DTS Import/Export
Wizard Error: GetSourcesRowset then in the box it says Class not registered.
If I click OK, it brings me to the wizard, but the data sources in the drop
down menu are unusual. I am running XP- newly upgraded and when I was on
2000 it worked just fine. The problem started when I was upgraded to XP.
Any ideas what the issue could be. In a last effort I attempted to re-reg
some of the dlls for the dts and the dtswiz.dll would not register- it gave
me an error message that the dtswiz.dll was loaded, bu the DLLRegisterServer
entry point was not found. The file can not be registered is what it said.
???

Hello Alwaysomething,

It does sound as though somethiing stamped on your DTS dlls or maybe even
MDAC. I have seen this happen on a number of occasions. When you say upgrade
I presume you actually mean upgrade and not reinstall from scratch. This
would also lead me to think something got stood on. Is it possible to uninstall
SQL Server components on your box and then reinstall them?

In the past I have had success with reregistering MSADO15.dll as well.
