Default DTS w/ Oracle - 11-01-2004 , 12:43 PM

Using SQL2k DTS, I'm connecting to Oracle 8i using the MS ODBC Driver
for Oracle for my transformation task. It's pretty slow and I've read
in several postings that I'll have more success with Oracle drivers.
I've run the install for OO4O and Oracle ODBC drivers but I can't see
either of them in the Data Source list in Connection properties. I
created a DSN for the Oracle ODBC and connected to it using the Other
(ODBC Data Source) but that's REALLY slow. Obviously, I'm missing
something here. How can I use the Oracle drivers for my connection?

Nope I don't think you are missing much unless someone can come in with a
tweak for the driver itself.

A lot of people use an intermediary of a text file to do Oracle <-> SQL
Server movements.

But how do I get the OO4O driver to show up in the Data Source list in
Connection properties? I've heard that's usually the best performing
driver so I'd like to run some tests.

If it's a 3rd party driver then the only way is to use the "Other"
connection
