Default dts trusted user - 08-18-2005 , 07:56 AM

Hello Gurus
Here is a simple one
We are running several dts packages across several servers I was told
that running the dts packages under the term run by trusted user may
solve a permission problem we are having. I do not remember how to
change to run by trusted user.... There is a switch to do this?

thanx much

A DTS Package runs as the person executing the package. Trusted? Do you
mean to use trusted connections inside of the package? If that is the case
then again those connections will take on the credentials of the person
executing the package

also note this though

Trusted connection as in Network Authentication? Make sure the ID
running SQL Server agent has appropriate access rights to the servers
touched by the DTS packages it is running

Post your exact error message and we'll better know what we are up
against...
