Default DTS -> SSIS Migration - 01-03-2006 , 08:26 PM

Hi All,

I have just been having a bit of a test/play with migrating from SQL2000 to
SQL2K5 - specifically moving DTS packages.

I have migrated some across - and would like to get into them to view what
the steps are and potentially update them as needed. But how in the world do
I do this?

I have connected to SSIS through the Management Studio - however this just
gives me a list of the packages which have come across.

It must be something blatantly obvious that I am missing - but if anyone
could assist, it will stop me pulling all my hair out

Thanks in advance

Troy

perfect! Thanks for that - I actually had that same blinding thought as I
drifted off to sleep last night - so good to see that your comments
reinforced my ramblings

Cheers!

Hello Troy,

The editor for DTS packages is no longer the tool at which you are loking which could roughly be equated to EM in DTS 2000. You need to look at the Business Intelligence Development Studio. In the solution explorer after you have created a SSIS project then you can open a package up by right clicking on the SSIS packages folder and choosing "Add Existing Package"

Have a look at the attached to get the idea. If you need anything else then come back to me.
