Default DTS in SQL 2005 - 03-17-2008 , 09:41 AM

I have migrated the DTS packages to SQL server 2005(standard) from SQL2000
using the migration wizard. The packages are under integrarion services/msdb.
I have installed the Backward Compatibility, DTS designer components. How can
i schedule the packages? how do i edit the package?

You should find the DTS packages under the Management -> Legacy -> Data
Transformation Services branch in SQL Management Studio. If you're lucky,
and everything you need is installed, right-click a package and choose Open.
I was recently working on a few packages for a client. Editing was
problematic, but mostly worked. Some of the icons were invisible, but
passing the mouse over them, or clicking to select them, made most of them
visible. After I had saved the packages once, the icons stayed visible.

I don't know about scheduling them since I wasn't doing that. If nothing
else, maybe you can use the Execute DTS Package step in an SSIS package and
schedule the SSIS package.
