Default DTS Sequel Database to Oracle with no Live connection - 08-18-2003 , 04:34 AM

Anyone,

I normally work under Oracle, however I have a requirement
to send a Sequel Database to a Oracle Client. I do not
have online access to the Oracle database, so the DTS
packages using OLE-DB etc cannot run.

Is there any way of exporting the Database without a live
connection ( I am sure there is but I cannot see it right
at this moment)

In anticipation

Thanks

Paul

Exporting the database to what ?

These articles have a raft of issues you may see. Most of them involve
coming the other way from SQL Server to Oracle but you will get the idea.

I would export all my tables to text files then. You can then have them
Import these at their end using SQL Loader.

Hi Allan

Thanks for the reply, what the problem is, is that a
client of ours running Oracle wants to import our SQL
database to see the structure and data, that is all.
I was hoping to use DTS, to export our DB but it seems
that it wants to have access to a live Oracle connection,
which is something that we dont have access to.

Any ideas

Cheers Paul
