Default DTS Package generation - 04-25-2005 , 09:32 AM

I need to create a whole bunch of DTS packages based on a list of input
files and tables. I have the mapping of file name, table name, and what
each input field maps to in the table. All this is in a spreadsheet. Is it
possible to generate a new DTS package from VB, VBA, VB script, etc? If so,
does anyone have a sample of code. The plan is to generate as much of the
DTS package as possible for each file and then go back and fill in the last
little bits manually.

Thanks!

Yes it is most possible.

A bit of work but possible

Easiest way to getting where you want to go is to create a package in designer that does what you want your package to do and save
as a VB file. You then crin from that changing what you need.

I have a package that reads fro a text file a query and regenerated the datapump task which you may find useful if you ping me.
