DTS Import Wizard : Invalid Class String -

I am running a client version of SQL Server 2000 (Build 2195,SP4) on my
W2k desktop.
Using Enterprise Manager, I am attempting to very simply import data
from an Excel spreadsheet into a table (to be created on the fly) on the
temp database.
The DTS import wizard takes me through the steps of selecting the source
spreadsheet, the tempdb database, the fact I am simply copying values
and the mapping of source columns to destination columns. All very
straight forward.
However on execute it reports "Error Source: Microsoft Data
Transformation Services (DTS) Package Error Description : Invalid class
string". A closer look at the error when the Executing Package dialog is
free identifies that "The Data Pump Task requires Transformations to be
specified"
Now I have done this a 100 times on other installations but I cannot
locate the problem with this one. I have performed a "Repair" and a "Re-
installation" to no avail.
Previous searching of newsgroups for answers has meant I have made sure
the files in the "Common Files" directory are up-to-date and of the
right version.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Kind Regards,
Darren
