Default DTS Hanging - End Execution when ODBC hangs. - 06-13-2006 , 12:55 PM

I am working at a client site where they have MANY DTS packages that
connect to FACTS using a ProvideX 32Bit ODBC driver. Periodically the
FACTS server will be unavailable for one reason or another and the DTS
hangs and so the Job it is in hangs. This job should be executing
every two hrs.

Since I can't obviously "fix" their network or FACTS server I need to
find a way to end the execution of the job/DTS if it gets hung. Either
though a step in the DTS package or a JOB. I have seen the use of
xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs to see if a job is running but I cannot find a
reference as to how to kill it if it is.

Thanks

Were you able to find a solution for this?
