Default DTS failed:db3 driver missing in XP? - 02-02-2006 , 08:54 AM

User switched from a W2Ksp4 computer to a XPsp2. He had a DTS that grabbed
a db3 file (created in VFP) and uploaded it to the server.
Now, when he tries to run it from his new XP machine, it generates the
following error:

Step Error Source: Microsoft JET Database Engine
Step Error Description:Unexpected error from external database driver
(8458).
Step Error code: 80004005
Step Error Help File:
Step Error Help Context ID:5003000

According to what I've read at the MSDN site, XPsp2 has all it needs in the
way of drivers. Yet from the error code it appears that XP doesn't have all
the drivers (or, at least, a db3 one).

As he has a considerable number of DTS', he'd rather find a solution than
re-create all the DTS'.

Well, after a 3 hour tech call to MS, this issue was resolved. They had us
rename the folder "Borland."
