Default DTS to Excel problem... - 10-09-2003 , 12:47 PM

I have DTS dumping data to Excel. It is set up to drop and re-create the
table in Excel. It all works except for one problem....when running this a
second time, the existing data in excel gets dropped, but the new data is
put into the spreadsheet below where the previous data was. So, in Excel, I
end up with 200+ blank rows then the data. When I run it again, I will have
400+ rows, then the data.
How can I fix this? I don't want it to remember where the previous data was
in Excel. I want it to always put the new data at the top of the
spreadsheet.
Also, is there a way to have it automatically create a new Excel spreadsheet
(new file) everytime I run this?
Thanks for helping,
Dan

If you use the DTS Export Wizard you will get an option to drop and
recreate the table (Excel worksheet). Look at article 319951 for details of
how to do this.
