DTS Designer for ActiveX Script Tasks Loses Script Pane??? -

(I just got through praising DTS to a colleague who hadn't used it since a
bad experience with it back in SQL 7.0. Good thing I didn't show him the
following!)
I've somehow broken the DTS Designer. Here's what happens now.
1) Create a new package
2) Drop an ActiveX Script Task onto the design sheet
3) Note that the left-hand pane with the Language and Browser tabs, shows
up, but the right-hand pane does not. Not at all.
One big hint is that when I pull down the Language dropdown, it extends past
the right edge of the screen, as though it thought that the screen width
were infinite. Although this may be a big hint to someone, it's meaningless
to me!
Strangely, I can drag two connections and create a transform data task
between them, and add an ActiveX Transform. In this case, the script pane is
displayed.
In general, when I lose a split pane like this, I move the mouse back and
forth across the window until I see the "splitter" cursor. In this case, I
never see a splitter cursor. Furthermore, when I do grab the right edge of
the window and resize it horizontally, the window will not resize smaller
than about 600 pixels wide (a bit less than 640). When I attempt to resize,
I get a "flash" of the "right edge", complete with minimize and maximize
buttons.
I've tried all combinations of minimize and maximize that I can think of.
I've also poked around in the Registry and in Application Settings to see if
I could see something that looked like it might be DTS' idea of the
appropriate window size. But I found nothing.
Can anyone help? I hope I don't have to reinstall SQL Server because of
this!
Thanks,
