Default DTS CoCreateInstance Error - 12-11-2003 , 05:31 PM

I'm trying to import an Excel file into SQL2000. I've
done it many times. However, now I get a "DTS
Import/Export Wizard Error: CoCreateInstance" with the
comment "Class not registered."

I removed SQL2000 and re-installed but I get the same
error. The "source" possibilities all look strange
(possibly German "trieber").

Any ideas? Thanks.

trieber = driver.

Have you tried reinstalling MDAC?

I believe I saw MDAC being reinstalled as part of the
SQL2000 reinstall. Is there a way I can check on whether
it was reinstalled? If it wasn't, how do I reinstall MDAC
separately?

Thanks, Norm

All you are doing is creating a brand new DTS package right and importing
data from Excel to SQL Server?

I am thinking the error may be coming from trying to use the Excel driver.

Allan,
Thank you! The download makes my SQL DTS work! Yes, all
I was trying to do was import an Excel file into SQL, and
it works fine now.

After the download, when I rebooted I got "An error
occurred calling "DllRegisterServer" in "C:\Program
Files\Common Files\System\MSADC\msadco.dll" (HRESULT =
8002801c). But everything seems to work OK, and I haven't
rebooted to see if that error comes up again.

Again, thank you!
