Default DTS/Agent job fails because denied permission - 09-14-2004 , 01:43 PM

Newby (power user) at the controls here. I am trying to
set up a job that will import data from an IBM AS400
system using DTS & Sql Agent. Our DBA cannot seem to
find the problem or will not figure it out.

I work on a remote workstation. Not directly on the
server. I can schedule and set up jobs, but they do not
execute. I get the following:

"Non-SysAdmins have been denied permission to run CmdExec
job steps. The step failed."

The DBA says I have SysAdmin access. Could it be my
Windows network security that is causing the problems? I
have seen some references in KB about this.

Can anyone provide some guidance so I can proove to our
IT department they are not worth their pound in salt.

When you schedule a DTS package it is not you that runs it.

Have a look here
