I have created a DTS package that seems to run fine reporting it has
processed all 5 million records but then there are none in the table - where
would I begin to look?

How are you running the package?

Is this an interactive execution or through a job?

If interactive and everything says "OK" and you are definitely pointing
to where you think you are then I am at a loss to explain where they are
going but if you are doing this through a job then the package may be
failing but the error is not bubbling up.
