Default Cube rename - 09-15-2003 , 02:47 PM

Hi

I like to rename the cube.

Is there anyway I can do this?
(without SAVE AS method or COPY and PASTE method)

Thanks,

You can't change it rhough Analysis Manager. You could try
editing it directly within the Analysis Services
repository - but be careful.

The Analysis Services repository is caled msmdrep.mdb so
you'll need MS Access to run it. If I were you I'd take a
copy of it first and test it on that before messing
directly with the proper repository.

Regards
Jamie

There is a tool in the SQL 2K resource it that allows you to script a
cube out to VB or VBScript I forget which. You could then edit the
script before executing t to re-create the cube with the new name. Might
be safer than hacking the repository.
