convert data from utf8 to ascii - 12-03-2003 , 12:45 AM

i have an oracle (8.16, unicode) i need to replicate it's
data to ms sql 2000 (32bit, ascii).
how can i do it? i tried to do it using an oracle client
on the ms sql server but the text was unreadable.
