Default Connection error message: SQL Server does not exist or access denied - 09-15-2003 , 10:14 PM

When I try to connect to a remote SQL Server 2000, it has connection error
message saying "
SQL Server does not exist or access denied." It doesn't matter if I use
Query Analyzer, or DTS, it just doesn't work. That computer is not behind
the firewall. I have no idea what's going on.

please advice. Thanks!
John

The article "INF: Potential Causes of the "SQL Server Does Not Exist or
Access Denied" Error Message" at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=328306
has many info on that message.
