Default Connect to Oracle - 06-16-2008 , 01:36 PM

Need assistance with Oracle connection in SSIS...
Windows 2003 X64
SQL2005 EE X64

I've installed both 32/64bit Oracle drivers... ODBC connections test
successful for both... Created a linkserver with success... Can execute
queries successfully from Oracle with the linked server...

Created separate "ProgramFilesX86" folder and copied SQL Server and Visual
Studio and execute devenv from same.

My problem, ORA-12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier
specified...

Any help?

Thanks,
Curtis

Default RE: Connect to Oracle - 06-16-2008 , 02:32 PM

Found my problem after posting my question...

I did have to copy the folders as seen in other posts. Also, added them to
my PATH environment variable before the ...(x86) folders. Called the
devenv.exe program from the copied folders for development testing...

And finally, I used the Oracle database names defined in the TNS names file
(I had a couple of different connections) instead of the ODBC names I created
in my ODBC DSN connections. I was trying to use the DSN connections in the
Server Name box in the Connection Manager...
