Default Collation order - 04-24-2008 , 06:39 AM






How can I export data between databases with different collation order (sql
server 2000)??? I would like to export correctly characters such as 'ñ',
'é', 'á', ...

Hi Juan,

If the character does not exist in the destination table collation
then I suspect you will have a problem :-/
How are you exporting the data (DTS?)

You could try building a view on top of the destination table which
casts the columns back to the source collation, but I'm not sure if
this would work correctly as I haven't tried it. Your best bet is to
get the collation correct

How are you exporting the data (DTS?)

You could try building a view on top of the destination table which
casts the columns back to the source collation, but I'm not sure if
this would work correctly as I haven't tried it. Your best bet is to
get the collation correct
