Default Catastrophic Error When Connecting via ODBC to Unidata - 01-22-2004 , 03:27 PM

Hello,

I have installed a Unidata ODBC driver on a machine that is
running SQL Server 2000. I'm able to use the driver without any
problems when using Access. However, when I try to create DTS
package in SQL Server that uses the driver, I receive the
following error:

[MS Design Tools] - ADO Error: Catastrophic error

I have no idea what this error means, and if there is anything that
I can do to get around it. Any ideas? Is there a problem with the driver?

Thanks,
Attila

At what point do you receive the error exactly?
Have you enough disk space ? (C etc )

After doing more testing, it only occurs when I click on the "Build
Query" button, on the "Source" tab of the "Transform Data Task". If
write the SQL code manually, it works fine with error. However, if
were to click the "Build Query" button, it essentially corrupts the
DTS package.

check your TEMP space.

It sounds as though everything else is OK except the query designer. Does
it only do that with this driver as the source or does it do it on ALL
packages regardless o source type?

It's only with this one driver.
