We are trying to use Meta Data Services as a way to help document our DTS packages. We can save the DTS as a Meta Data Services Package, and we can see it in the Meta Data Services group (under DTS). However, when we try to open the 'Meta Data' group (under DTS), we get the following error message: "An error occurred while trying to access the database information. The msdb database could not be opened." We want to use the Meta Data Group because of the views it offers of DTS Packages saved in Meta Data Services. These are the "Browse", "Lineage", and "Package" views. Are are using SQL Server 2000, SP4, the most recent build (2039). We saw the Microsoft Fix article describing this error message ( http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;319455 ), but it does not help -- we have no language issues, and we have applied the most recent SP. We have checked machine and SQL Server logs and used Profiler, but we cannot understand why this error message is being generated. We can open, browse, and update the msdb tables directly in Enterprise Manager. We are using Admin group network IDs, and are SA on the servers in question. We have tried to do this on the local SQL Server and on SQL Servers -- always same problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Mark |
