Hi, I cannot open "DTS transformation" tasks in DTS Designer. When I try to edit one, enterprise manager simply seems to enter into an infinie loop. (But I can edit "Execute SQL tasks" work) I've "resolved" this problem when I rebooted the server but I do not want to restart the machine everyday ! If someone could help, it would be wonderful !! Thanks, Alex. |

Start by making sure you have the latest SP installed. I've encountered similar issues in the past, usually when dealing with CSV files, but these problems have not popped up since the newest service pack release. |
You may also want to try to look around in disconnected edit at the transformation to make sure the source and destination connections are valid, and that the transformations within are also valid. |
If you are picking up a file from the file system - if it's a network drive - make sure you are fully qualifying the directory using the server name rather than a mapped drive - and make sure you still have connectivity to that server. |
Without some more key information regarding your problem, it's difficult to tell what the issue may be. |
Questions 1. What drivers are you using for your transformation connections? |
2. Are you importing or exporting to the file system? |
3. Does the transformation dialog box appear at all when you double click it, or is it a specific tab that the transformation gets stuck on - i.e.. when you open the destination tab? |
4. Are you using any lookups in your transformation that are using other connections, or the same connections? No, there is only two fixed parameters. |
5. Have your rights changed on the file system or SQL Server lately? |
