Default Cannot Create Data Transformation Project (SSIS) - 01-30-2006 , 11:47 AM

I am not sure if this is the right group for this post, but I did find
some other SSIS topics.

I opened up the "New Project" screen, and Data Transformation Project
is not available as an option. The only new project options I have are
SQL Server Scripts, Analsys Services Scripts, and SQL Mobile Scripts.
Also, I only have the templates window (which is where the three
options are located. I cannot see a Project Types window. Does anyone
know why I am not able to start a new SSIS project? I checked the
installation, and Integration Services is installed.

Check the about screen, you should see SSIS. Example here -

Ok, so I need to develop Data Transformation Projects in Visual Studio,
not in the Business Intelligent Development Studio. I looked up a
couple of instructional articles on developing SSIS, and both listed
opening BIDS as a step, not Visual Studio. Your article helped me to
understand that Visual Studio 2005 and BIDS are the same IDE shell.
Thanks for your help!
