I have a DTS package that executes fine on demand, but when I add it to the
job scheduler it won't stop executing. I started logging the DTS job and
can see through the log that the package is completing normally, but the job
in the job scheduler will not stop executing until I cancel it. The job
takes 15 seconds to execute and I let it run for 12 hours before I cancelled
it. Any ideas?

Have you "checked in the packages" that the connections are being closed
in the workflow properties of the steps?
