I have created several DTS package through EM on my own workstation, saved to SQL server. Then when I was on server itself, I try to open these DTS pacakge through EM, I got an error saying "SQL server doesn't exist or access denied".. Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks Wenli |

At what point does this occur? After opening but on running? If that is the case then remember that DTS is client side so maybe your credentials are different on the server? Also you may not be able to see the other box from the server? I even can not open the DTS package in the wizard to change anything. So any change I need make I have to open them on my workstation. "Allan Mitchell" wrote: At what point does this occur? The wizard does not allow you to open previously created packages, it is purely an Import/Export wizard. So you saved the package, created on your Wkstn, to a SQL Server (remote), you go to the remote server, logon and try to retrieve this package by what? Double clicking on the package in EM? Is the version and SP of SQL Server the same on each box? I am using EM on my workstation but still working on the Server's DTS designer. (I don't have SQL server installed on my workstation, just client utilities). I worked in the disigner and saved on the server. Then I was trying to open the package by double click on the package in EM on the server. It gave me taht error. When you are on your box and open a package in EM, the location of the DTS package is moot. It comes to you. What moot mean? When I register that server in my EM, I was connecting as sa. And after I saved the package, I changed the owner of that pacakge to the Domain login that SQL service running on. I don't have this problem on my other server. Only this one has trouble. "Allan Mitchell" wrote: When you are on your box and open a package in EM, the location of the DTS package is moot.
