You cannot create new ones as DTS is a legacy component, but you can import
and edit existing ones. To do the latter, you need to download the Microsoft
SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components from this page to use with your SQL
Server Management Studio for 2005:

Hi thanks for the information. Is there an equivalent to the dts package in
mssql 2005 so you can create and schedule data moves between databases and so
on ?

Hello Paul,

The ETL offering from MS is now called SQL Server Integration Services.
You can find it in the Business Intelligence Development Studio.

have a look here for some of the things you can do in SSIS

Hi I installed the dts download and opened a mssql2000 database but still the
dts packages are not visible. I do have the trial version of mssql2005 so
perhaps this is why.
