Hello, what software products/processes are folks using when it comes to
automating problem notification for on-call support of unattended SQL Server
processes (like a DTS package for example)? We were running Tivoli for our
mainframe support (not sure what it is now) but we would want the same kind
of functionality (i.e,. utlimately having a system generated message sent to
a pager/phone for on-call support). I have read that the SQL Server Agent can
generate a broadcast message on process failure but I'm wondering if people
have taken that a step further to interface with automated systems like
Tivoli?
Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated!
