Can I automate the Windows XP right-click > send to compressed (zipped file)
in a DTS task? My DTS creates a text file, but I need to zip it.

Don't think so unless you can build your own custom task that harnesses any
APIs used.

Personally I bought and use PKZip cmdline version to do this along with the
ExecuteProcess task.
