Default Adding final register to a flat file obtained from a DTS - 08-29-2005 , 06:01 PM

I have a DTS package which concatenates 3 columns of a table and exports
this final column into a flat file. I need to add a final register to
this flat file (the number of registers on the file which is the last
last row of the column) how can I do this?

Also I need to ask the user for a date and after print this date on the
first row of the flat file, how can I do this?

Your best bet would be to use a global variable as an input parameter to the
package to set the date to write out to the file.

You might have to resort to using an Activex script to handle the final
register you could then access the file using the fso object directly
manipulating its contents

DTS is meant to be noninteractive and is typicaly used for running automated
data loading and processing tasks
