Default ActiveX Scripting execution engine not initiating - 03-03-2004 , 12:23 PM

I recently applied the Critical updates (mostly security
patches) and a Windows 2000 SP4 Express setup to my
workstation. Since then, I get the following error when
trying to execute a DTS package that contains ActiveX
Scripting:

ActiveX Scripting was not able to initiate the script
execution engine.

I've searched FAQs and the Knowledgebase and find no
reference to this error.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

No, Allen, I hadn't.

I used COM Explorer and all three DLLs looked fine, so I
unregistered and reregistered each of them.

That did it.

Thank you so much for finding the link.
