Default 2005 Integration services configuration problem??? - 05-26-2006 , 02:46 PM

OK, I'v created a new Integration Services Project. I then added a Data
Flow task to the Control Flow surface, and attempted to rename the Data
Flow Task and I get an error:

TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
------------------------------

Could not get value for property
'6422d93b-a711-4267-9634-01d8a4ea1b12'. Specified cast is not valid.

------------------------------
BUTTONS:

OK
-----------------------------

Upon inspection of the properties for the task, it seems they all say
this as well.

When I try to add a new connection in the connections tray, I get this
error:

TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
------------------------------

The new connection manager could not be created.

------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The connection manager 'OLEDB' is not properly installed on this
computer. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Design)

For help, click:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdN...d&LinkId=20476

------------------------------
BUTTONS:

OK
------------------------------

Any one else experience this issue. If so, what was your workaround?

Thanx

C

I found the problem.

SqlServer2005DTSUser[$MachineName] needs to have the Read/Write,
Execute and List Folder Contents permissions set for the C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn directory.

If the permissions already appear to be set this way, change the
permissions to full control, save, and then limit the permissions to
those I just noted above, and the problem will be resolved.
