Default 2000 and 2005 sql server instances on the same machine - 11-23-2006 , 07:35 AM

Hi,

I had a dts package running fine on a sql server 2000 instance. An ActiveX
component of that package stopped working when a 2005 instance was installed
on the same server - but the package was still running on the 2000 instance.

The script is just create a text file on a server. It runs fine through DTS
but not when scheduled by sql server agent - permissions are fine and it
worked last week.

Hello e.hopkins,

What does happen then? Errors?

How do you try to create the text file?

Does the same syntax work outside of DTS/SQL Server?

Sorry to post the question here. For some reason, I can not start a new
posting. I have an error when installing interation services. Its is the
following:

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup
------------------------------

Failed to install and configure assemblies C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\90\DTS\Tasks\Microsoft.SqlServer.MSMQTask.d ll in the COM+ catalog.
Error: -2146233087
Error message: Unknown error 0x80131501
Error description: You must have administrative credentials to perform this
task. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

For help, click:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkI...cs%40x80131501

I checked the MSDN site and learned that the error could be caused by MS DTC
being deactivated (Event id 29549). I updated MS DTC to run as Network
Service Account, restarted the services and re-installed integration
services, but the error persisted.

I ignored it so I could complete the installation for integration services,
but I discovered that I am unable to build or deploy solutions using analysis
services. Any help?

Thanks,
SQLNek
